CHRISTINA BERTSOS

Aphrodite is one of the most powerfully enduring of the Ancient Greek goddesses. Many versions of this sensual deity have been conceived throughout time. A goddess of love and fertility, she is also a goddess of war. I wanted to convey her softness and her strength simultaneously and show her as a reflection of the feminine spirit, my own and that which lives in the world. 

Carved from an exquisite piece of the finest Carrara marble and handpicked in Italy by the late sculptor, Don Silverberg, this piece is infused with the sculptor’s energy of Love for the medium. She is rising to connect the past with the present and future of our becoming.
