I just adore this time of year! The days begin to cool, and being outside to sculpt under Florida's gorgeous blue skies is divine. With the changing seasons, also comes a time where I tune into nature and take notice of the way it flows effortlessly from summer to fall year after year. I can always count on nature's consistency to help me feel grounded in my human experience that often- times comes with uncertainties.
I carved Daughter of the Earth out of a piece of sandstone. Her shape resembles that of a mountain or landscape. She is still and has fortitude. While being made of a stone that can easily erode over time, she reminds me of how we all eventually return to our essence. She shows me to embrace change just as the Earth does, quietly, with reverence and love.
