Subtractive sculpture is the oldest sculpture there is. It involves removing material to create a form or design. One of the biggest challenges for me is deciding what to hang on to and what to let go of. Moment to moment I am presented with options and possibilities. Once I've chosen a path and made that cut, new sets of options present themselves. It is a constant choosing to let go of something while simultaneously acknowledging something I want to hold on to.
While the world braces itself against the coronavirus, Spring is here and I can't help but be swept up in the beauty and awakening it symbolizes. I can hang on to fear, grief and how the world was before or I can let that go and surrender to new possibilities and hope in all that is good.
Wishing you Peace and Love.
